Normal Mats

In normal Scrapper mats the pile is made of Vinyl loop, which tends to settle or get crushed thereby destroying the scrapping mechanism.

The efficiency reduces with usage Pile crushing is a big problem with most mats especially those made using vinyl. When the pile is crushed, dirt remains on the top of the mat instead of inside the mat – as illustrated above.

When dirt remains on the top of the fabric, the dirt can migrate easily into building when the next person steps on it.

Milliken Mats

Milliken Mats are made by solution dyed nylon which is the best material for scrapping the dirt from under the footwear and is pile crushing resistant.

Maintenance Guideline

Milliken Mats are designed specifically to remove the maximum amount of tracked in dirt particles.

The high twist open pile construction is excellent in trapping soil and moisture and therefore thorough cleaning is essential to ensure optimum performance and also to extend the life of the product. The mat products will be their nature be the most abused of all floor-covering finishes within the building. We therefore recommend the following maintenance regime.

Daily Cleaning

Daily use of a powerful upright vacuum cleaner will remove loose dirt because of the rotary brush action. An additional benefit of the brush action is to groom the pile thus helping to reduce pile flattening. We do not recommend the use of suction only machine such as a tub vacuum cleaner because it cannot successfully remove the dirt due to the impervious backing nor will it have the grooming effect on the pile. Some of mats need to be brush to be clear the dirt accumulated on the mats.

Convergence can be machine-washed. Note: A Bonnet Buffing type machine should not be used (could cause untwisting of the pile construction).

Periodic Cleaning

The frequency of cleaning will depend upon site conditions

The frequency of cleaning will depend upon site conditions and the volume of traffic over the matting. It is highly recommended to use Vacuum thoroughly before using a hot water extraction machine. The temperature should not exceed 50°C
